[link]And crash. I say this, I realize, in a lot of my artist comments... but this BFOI contest has a lot of firsts for me and I have been challenged to really go outside my comfort zone... this picture was very much out of my comfort zone.
and I still weenie'd out and made the trainers tiny. I have never done action stills before, I have never made such detailed lineart, and I have never put this much attention into the coloring before. Seriously, I think this contest may be doing a lot more for me than just giving me something to do... I'm happy with how this came out.
Okay, so here we have Jon's swellow, Martlet, facing off against Nugget, Dan's steelix. The point here is... Martlet doesn't stand much of a chance. There is a type disadvantage, and a huge size difference. (I hoped to emphasize this with the angle but I'm not sure how it came out).
I realize not much is actually happening in this shot as far as "action" goes, but this is sort of the tense stare down before the battle begins.
Hope you like it
As always, any comments or critiques are welcome.

However, the mood of this drawing is really good. I like it ><
Thank you very much ^^
Steelix vs that tiny swellow? It makes me wonder how this battle is going to turn out! I feel a bit bad for the swellow!
