"I was tired. My muscles ached. A few weeks of intense training, I was ready to give up. I'm truly pathetic.The monster must have noticed. On the rope ladder, he offered me his hand. But in my form. My hand... His face looked resigned, and I hesitantly accepted. It must feel I am somehow of use to him (or is it a her?). I'm a little surprised. Perhaps I judged this monster too quickly..."

I'm not sure about the writing. I might change it before the deadline if I can.

Round 1 illustration 1 for the End Run pokemon OCT. Ovid the magical monocle adorning Ditto offers help to the pleasantly pathetic 'trainer' some help through the obstacle course. I'm hoping this entry is considered legal. If not... I'm sorry. Depending on your screen, you might be able to see that the greyscale is actually a very unsaturated color, but I chose it this way so it seemed more time appropriate... because everyone knows the world was black and white in the forties. And I just liked the feeling it gave. I think the perspective might be a little bit off, but I tried my best. :)

Critiques are, as always, welcome and encouraged.

I really love the perspective and the grayscale you used here! It really sets the mood, that awkward relief-worry-angst-etc-something kind of feeling.
