Personality:
Matilda is sweet deep deep deep down there somewhere, or so one must assume. But for those who do not have the time or patience to excavate her internal workings, she is a quick tempered, grumpy, apathetic and generally done with people in general. While those living in the desert biome tend to be relaxed, Matilda is almost always tense, stressed, and exhausted. 

She has trouble dealing with humans, but when it comes to the desert she is quite at home. She likes to make sure everything is still doing well and healthy. Sure, if she runs into a rattle-ekans and it's acting aggressive, she's more than happy to knock it's head in. But if she finds that citizens of the biome or scientists are disturbing a nest of zigzagoon, she's equally happy to give them a piece of her mind. And if you thought sailors had a salty mouth, you ain't seen nothing yet. 

Matilda isn't very ambitious, and is usually, pretty damn lazy. Her apartment hasn't been cleaned in months, and despite hating her job has never made any effort to find a new one. That said when she does want something, you best get out of her way because she will get it, no matter how long it takes. 

Character History:
When Matilda was 15 she dropped out of school to start making her own way. She worked for a few years in her parent's tourist-y shop full of tacky baubles that were brightly colored, and played the part as a happy native. But growing sick of the life of a cashier, Matilda moved out to her own crappy studio apartment and got a job as  a tour guide for her lovely home desert biome, bringing scientists and tourists safely around the landscapes. 

Additional Notes:
Matilda has two main jobs as a guide. In part, she is a ranger who maintains the protection of the desert, and the people in it by guiding people to their destinations safely, as well as finding people who get lost. She often will bring new archeologists to their dig sites or to new ruins. She loves exploring the caves herself and knows the desert pretty well. 

The second is with tourists. She will take delighted customers though the more scenic parts of the desert safely and while spouting rote memorized facts about the landscape and organisms they come across. She hates this more than anything, but it's a living. That said, if someone gets on her nerves (which is often) professional courtesy may be discarded for a small rant or curt remark to people's stupid or ignorant questions. Some days she doesn't even bother, she sits on her altaria's back, pulls her hat down and takes a long nap while her pokemon lead the way. 

Battle Tactics:
Matilda likes to end things quickly and certainly by putting an opponent down as soon as possible with a strong offense, or a sleep song.

Personality: Coorain is actually a sweetheart right on the surface. She is soft, protective and loving. She is also Matilda's mount.

Short History: Matilda used to visit a shiny breeder,fascinated as a young 12 year old and fell immediately in love with a little cloud puff swablu. It had a broken wing, and the breeder explained it would probably never fly. Matilda cuddled that puff ball all day, ran up to the breeder and told him not to sell the poor damaged bird until she could pay for it. At first the breeder humored her and said he wouldn't sell it for a few days. Maybe because it was damaged, he knew it would be harder to sell. But Matilda wanted her. So for months Matilda pulled weeds, mowed lawns, did extra chores and did every possible thing she could imagine to make the money. Every day he was there she came back and gave him all of the money she had made, and he agreed not to sell it that day. Over the course of 3 months of giving that breeder every cent she made, she was able to afford her perfect fluffy flightless swablu. It has, obviously, evolved since then.

Personality: Waratah is basically a punk. She is violent, quick tempered and quite enjoys the heat of aggression though she very rarely gets a chance to use it. She is very loyal and protective of her friends. 

Short History:
Matilda found the crying cub one soon after it had lost its mother, as all cubones do. It had been killed by some territorial wild pokemon, so Matilda scooped up the baby, bandaged it, and let it go on it's way but Waratah chose not to go. So ever since they have been together and have been BFFs.

Personalityespite his derby face, Balun is actually a cunning strategist when it comes to using his surroundings to his advantage. For play and for fighting. He is bouncy and energetic and loves making mud puddles that he can roll around in. Much to Matilda's dismay. 

Short History:
While Matilda was working through her decisions to drop out, to move out, and getting a job she would go to the river and feed the ducks. Well this guy isn't exactly a duck but he loved the food a whole lot. He was also pretty bold, he'd waddle out of the river and crawl on top of her until she fed him. When she realized she would need a more balanced team, she pretty much just picked him up and walked off with him. He doesn't mind. Comfy couches to sleep on, and free food. Win Win.
